Another resource is your local nursery – a good nursery will get you started with the easiest herbs to grow and tell you exactly what you need to do with them.

For starters, go down to the nearest Wal*Mart, Fred Meyer’s, or Target. Go to the garden section and ask about INDOOR HERB GARDENS. They’re little kits that include the soil, the seeds, and a miniature greenhouse to help them grow. (Some of the cheaper ones include cubes of soil with the seeds already planted inside them. All you have to do is water them and keep them warm!)
It’ll get you started and give you an idea of what to look for, and a chance to see which herbs will grow best in your climate.

become a member of a gardening club, go to a gardener and be friends. the subject is rather big, most books on the subject are no too easy, for they presume you do know a lot. Maybe in your place of living a course excists?
maybe at school you can do a course in gardening?
Good luck, gardening is a beautiful way of living.

  4. Square foot gardening. It’s about making very small pieces of land (or even large flowerpots) produce a lot. http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
If the site won’t load, you can probably get the book out of your local library.
