No, but Cargill and Monsanto are trying to make it so you can’t buy heirloom garden seeds anymore. The ones you can save from year to year and plant the next season. The Big Ag companies are fixing it so that you have to buy your seeds from them, and them only. They introduced a type of seed that has an engineered gene in it that is called a “suicide gene”. This gene causes the embryo of the plant to die inside of the seed before it ripens. You can’t plant any of these seeds because the embryo is dead. You can’t save the seed because it will be worthless. This will cause worldwide food shortages because a lot of 3rd world countries save their seeds from year to year. Now, they will have to buy their seeds from Cargill, or Monsanto every year. These companies will even have scouts that will go out and make sure that the plants that farmers use comes from these GMO’s ( genetically modified organisms). Obama isn’t the culprit unless he endorses what the seed companies want to do. No taxes for home gardens. In fact, the U.S. government wants people to learn how to grow their own food. But, with seeds from the Big Ag companies.
