Hi, I have been doing some research on the net about adoption by same-sex couples in NSW. Can it be done?
My partner and I are 2 boys and have been together for 2 years and have a very ATable family life with a lot of suppot family. My partner was adopted himself. We have jobs too comfortable, I am a school teacher and he is a sales executive. I wonder if anyone does not know if this is possible in Australia, including NSW and if so, what is the first step? I know many of you out there will have to respond with the usual enemy gay / should, t .... parenting 'crap for those not worry, your losing the time and I do not really care about your opinion! Hi Shane, Lol ..... you will not get any of that crap gay enemy of me, my brother and some of my best friends are gay I do not have a problem with it at all ... I'm also an Australian, I live in WA. As far as I know, as long as you can go household surveys and assessments then there should be no problem with you and your partner promoting adoption through the welfare system. As adoptee I really disagree with the adoption of the newborn and in Australia, only about 35 adoptions of newborns per year anyway, our welfare system allows most mothers to parents that the children themselves, is something that fills me with pride to an Australian. There are many children however, many adoptive parents pending through child protective services, and help is a valuable service you can provide a child. Please Whichever way you go, remember that for a child who is available for you to foster or adopt who have experienced loss and pain, and be compassionate to that. Good lucky! xxx
