Question about soil container .. garden?
I have a container garden on a terrace and I just bought Miracle Grow Organic soil Choice - but now I realize it says "not for the containers to the packaging. Why is this? Can I mix potting soil that I have and still use my containers? I'd rather not lug these bags back to the store .. thanks
I made the same mistake in the past. PLANTING soil and land of the pot are different in texture and properties. Potting soil for containers is a lighter, moss and soil drainage type (mostly peat) that does not compact or harden as planting soil, and is usually mixed with white perlite. Perlite is a mineral (volcanic ash) that helps open the soil to increase aeration, while which provides greater pore space to promote drainage. You could buy a big bag of peat and perlite and add them to the land that you just bought, but had to buy more land right - it'd probably just as cheap in the long term. There might be another place to plant your garden soil so you do not have to bring back to the car and then by a car once back in the shop. PS - The final determination of whether it would be their containers have drainage holes in the bottom right, and if You can control the amount of water containers to receive. If not, would be making a return trip to the nursery or shop.

I have used miracle grow in my pots for years. I find the plants do better with miracle than any other potting soil I have used.
Your plants will be fine.
not for containers will hold water and could cause root rot ,, just check soil moister and don’t over water
Garden soils are too dense to use in containers as they will suffocate the roots eventually. I would suggest mixing in some Miracle Gro Organic Potting Soil 50/50 with the garden soil in the pots. In the future be sure to get the Miracle Gro Organic Potting Soil when growing in containers.
