Avocado trees do have males and females or can self pollinate?

I'm in Costa Rica and I've been saving and growing the seeds of the best avocados i find. I will plant these on my property here, but I was curious if self pollinate or if there are men and women avocado trees.

I hope you are patient! Seeds grown avocados can take up to twenty years to bear fruit. By contrast, grafted varieties take only 1-2 years. If you are in a hurry and that you have room, by all means experiment. Avocado flowering is very interesting.
