Avocado trees do have males and females or can self pollinate?

I'm in Costa Rica and I've been saving and growing the seeds of the best avocados i find. I will plant these on my property here, but I was curious if self pollinate or if there are men and women avocado trees.

I hope you are patient! Seeds grown avocados can take up to twenty years to bear fruit. By contrast, grafted varieties take only 1-2 years. If you are in a hurry and that you have room, by all means experiment. Avocado flowering is very interesting. In the link: "The flowers are perfect [ie, that produce both male and female flowers], but are receptive to pollen in the morning and shed pollen the following afternoon (type A), or are receptive to pollen in the afternoon and poured the pollen in the morning (type B) ... The production is better with cross pollination between types A and B. "
